Since Buddy Clark's hit in 1946 more songs seem to have been written about "Linda" than almost any other girl. This page is home to a list of those songs. An interesting historical note about the Buddy Clark hit is that it was written by Jack Lawrence for his lawyer, Lee Eastman's, 5 year old daughter, as a birthday gift. This Linda grew up and married Paul McCartney and had another song written for her, "The Lovely Linda." By far the most recorded songs seems to be "Linda Lu," a blues song written by Ray Sharpe, which was recorded by many blues as well as country and rock singers. Since "linda" is the Spanish word for "pretty" I have avoided listing Spanish language songs, since I am only listing songs about the girl, " Linda."
